In Eternity's Silence with Silent Night
Lyrics: Martin Wickens, Joseph Mohr
Music: Carrie Wickens, Franz Gruber
Lyrics
In eternity's silence,
in a time before time,
In the hush of endless ages,
Before the stars did shine,
Silence broken,
God's Word spoken,
Creator's "Let there be";
On that night, that holy night,
God made all things perfectly.
Adams race, blinded by sin,
Then long in darkness slept;
All judges, kings and prophets
Could not the debt repay.
Sin prevailed, Satan hailed,
Life entwined with curse's thorn;
Then one night, one holy night,
Hope for all began to dawn.
"Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin mother and child,
Holy infant so tender and mild
Seep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace."
Timeless God, by time now ruled
Eternal Son was born,
The Omnipotent Creator,
Our hope in humble form,
Heaven bending, mercy sending
Son of God, Son of Man,
Majesty and Glory veiled.
God with us, Emmanuel.
Hope proclaimed
that Christmas morn,
Angels sang joyfully
All Peace on earth,
good will to men,
Mighty God hath moved.
Angels calling,
shadows falling;
Let all Creation sing:
Hope fullfilled in Jesus Christ,
God with Us, Emmanuel.
Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.
Timeless God, by time now ruled
Eternal Son was born,
The Omnipotent Creator,
Our hope in humble form,
Heaven bending, mercy sending
Son of God, Son of Man,
Majesty and Glory veiled,
God with us, Emmanuel.
